　　Unique progress and development prospects of 27A battery technology

　　Technology giants including Samsung of South Korea and Dyson of the United Kingdom have collectively invested $65 million in a small company, Ionic Materials. Futurism reported that such trust is shocking, only because Ionic Materials seems to have made unique progress in solid-state battery technology.

　　Ionic Materials was founded in 1986 and was strongly supported by Silicon Valley legend Bill Joy at the beginning. Last month, the small company completed a C round of financing of up to $65 million. Investors include Samsung of South Korea, Dyson of the United Kingdom, which has not been officially announced but confirmed by sources, and Alliance Ventures, a venture capital company led by car manufacturers Renault S.A., Nissan, and Mitsubishi.

　　Bill Joy is betting on a solid-state alkaline battery, which is the same as the batteries in flashlights and remote controls that we see in daily life, but it is rechargeable and suitable for electric vehicles, power grids and home power storage. More importantly, it is cheaper and safer than lithium-ion batteries. Although it may take another five years to be commercialized, the Ionic Materials promotional video shows that even if someone shoots a bullet directly into the surface of the battery, the battery will still work normally.

　　Ionic Materials focuses on making a new polymer to replace the liquid electrolyte in today's lithium-ion batteries. "Futurism" reported that Ionic Materials researchers have announced three major breakthroughs so far. First, they assert that lithium ions move faster in polymers than conventional liquid electrolytes, which is basically contrary to existing physical cognition. In theory, ions should be less likely to pass through solids. If this research is true, it will bring major innovations in the field of solid-state batteries.

　　Secondly, Ionic Materials said that its material has an operating voltage of up to 5V; third, most materials in solid-state battery research operate at about 60°C, but their materials can work at room temperature.
