  1 Panasonic-Sanyo Electric

  Cathode material

  Research and develop lithium manganese oxide doped with nickel, aluminum and other elements of solid solution cathode materials, which are used as cathode materials for batteries. At present, the cathode materials that have been developed include nickel cobalt manganese oxide, nickel cobalt aluminum oxide, etc., and have been applied on a large scale.

  In addition, in order to solve the low thermal stability and safety problems caused by nickel oxide, nano coating treatment is performed on the surface of the cathode material.

  Negative electrode material

  Currently, carbon materials are mainly used, but at the same time, silicon alloy negative electrode materials are actively developed, and some applications have been realized.

  2 NEC-AESC

  By doping with nickel, aluminum and other elements to improve the low energy density of lithium manganese oxide materials, the route is actually similar to Panasonic. However, NEC seems to be more bold and is developing nickel-cobalt alloy materials with twice the capacity to replace manganese materials.

  At present, the application of this new cathode material has solved the problem of battery durability. NEC is actively developing electrode materials for power lithium batteries, which have been put into use.

  3 Hitachi

  Negative electrode materials

  There are currently two routes for the development of Hitachi's negative electrode materials:

  1. Improvement based on carbon materials;

  2. Developing SiO-C, a mixture of silicon alloy materials and carbon materials.

  At the same time, developing a new type of copper foil with high elastic limit stress and excellent processing performance as an electrode material.

  Diaphragm

  In terms of diaphragms, a ceramic diaphragm material that can withstand high temperatures of 200°C has been developed. It is a porous membrane made of ordinary polyolefins coated with plate-shaped inorganic microparticles. Currently, this diaphragm material has been put into use.

  4 Toshiba

  Toshiba mainly improves the energy density of the battery by increasing the particle density of the positive electrode material. In order to optimize the performance of manganese-titanium batteries, Toshiba uses an electrolyte with a high ignition point and a diaphragm with excellent heat resistance.

  5 Innergy

  Innergy firmly follows the lithium manganese oxide route, and its 6F22 carbon battery technology level is in the leading ranks among all Japanese companies. At present, the product data of power lithium batteries supplied by Innersys are good, but they still need to be tested in mass production.

  6GS Yuasa

  GS Yuasa is actively advancing in both lithium manganese oxide and lithium iron phosphate. The important products of lithium manganese oxide are EH6 and LEV50, and the important products of lithium iron phosphate are LEV25 and LIM40.

  7 Sony

  While developing lithium iron phosphate batteries, Sony is also actively developing power lithium batteries with lithium cobalt oxide + tin-based alloy materials. Sony's method is to "carry out a 0.1~1pm thick coating treatment" on the surface of the particles of the lithium cobalt oxide material. The positive electrode material is a mixture of tantalum cobalt oxide and ternary materials, and a ceramic diaphragm is used to improve safety.
