Military lithium battery technology

  Military lithium batteries mainly refer to lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries as the positive electrode material, nickel cobalt aluminum (NCA) batteries as the negative electrode material, and nickel hydrogen as the negative electrode material, also known as military lithium batteries. In order to improve the energy density of military lithium-ion batteries, developing new types of military lithium-ion batteries with better performance, lighter weight, smaller volume, lighter weight, and longer service life is a very promising direction. Nickel cobalt aluminum is a positive electrode material for military lithium batteries (NCA) with unique and superior performance: 1. Its electrode structure is a gradient structure, with a long electrode life; Compared with traditional NCA, its cycle life has been increased by at least 10 times; 3. Its internal electrochemical stability has also been significantly improved; 4. Improved safety, fast charging, and thermal stability to a certain extent; 5. Able to withstand significant mechanical pressure and high temperature radiation. Military industry experts and military researchers have conducted in-depth research on lithium batteries to improve the energy density of military lithium-ion batteries. They pointed out several main issues in current research: firstly, military lithium batteries are still in the experimental stage; Secondly, there are many problems with military lithium battery technology; Thirdly, military lithium batteries do not have the characteristic of high energy density and cannot meet the requirements of military industrial development; Fourthly, there are significant shortcomings in the development of lithium batteries; Fifth, continue to develop new materials, technologies, and processes; The sixth is the main technical problem that the military urgently needs to solve.

  Lithium batteries have good performance and high safety, but there are some internal defects. Because lithium battery products contain key components of the battery, such as electrodes, separators, and electrolytes. These components are non removable and cannot be soaked in water. Meanwhile, the excellent performance of lithium battery products must comply with the relevant regulations of national industry standards.
