According to executives, the cooperation aims to strengthen research on solid-state batteries. Solid-state batteries may become an alternative to traditional lithium-ion batteries. The research plan is the latest project in the collaboration between the University of Western Ontario and the National Alliance Automotive Power Battery Research Institute. Since 2017, the two parties have shared a research laboratory and a research park opened in 2018.
