According to executives, the cooperation aims to strengthen research on solid-state batteries. Solid-state batteries may become an alternative to traditional lithium-ion batteries. The collaboration was praised by the Mayor of London and Kapil Lakhotia, Chairman of the London Economic Development Corporation, who said that the application of batteries is not limited to electric vehicles, "Now, the world is in a battery research race."
