South Korea has developed a high-performance anode binder material for lithium ion battery 18650 price

 

The Korea Research Foundation announced that the institute, together with Chungnam University and Jinwu University of Science and Technology, has jointly developed a new type of binder anode material with high voltage and high capacity, which greatly improves the energy density of secondary lithium ion battery 18650 price. The research results were published in the international academic journal Advanced Functional Materials.

 

The current lithium cobalt oxide (LiCoO2) and nickel cobalt manganese (NCM) have limited capacity, and anode materials with larger capacity are needed. Lithium-rich manganese oxide has attracted much attention as a new generation of anode materials. It has an energy capacity twice that of lithium cobalt oxide, but high capacity can only be achieved by increasing the charging voltage to above 4.4V. However, in this case, the secondary battery will heat up, which will weaken the viscosity of the binder and cause problems such as weakened battery performance.

 

South Korea is committed to developing high-energy-density secondary batteries. The anode material developed by the research team forms a protective film on the surface of the anode under the conditions of 4.7V high voltage and 55 degrees high temperature, maintaining a stable interface, without the need for additional electrolyte additives, and can also maintain a stable and viscous adhesive material, with a capacity more than twice that of the currently used lithium cobalt oxide and more stable charge and discharge performance. The research team said that this technology can further promote the development of secondary batteries.
