　　Siemens and Northvolt cooperate to develop 14500 battery

　　According to foreign media reports, Siemens and Northvolt are working together to develop the latest technology to produce high-quality lithium-ion batteries. The project will receive financial support from Siemens, with an investment of 10 million euros (about 11.7 million US dollars), and will achieve mass production of lithium-ion batteries after 2020, and Northvolt will also become Siemens' preferred supplier of lithium-ion batteries.

　　Siemens regards Northvolt's innovative measures as a reference project for its future battery mass production, which depends on the integration and digitalization of the entire value chain: from battery cell design to production planning, engineering design, production and after-sales service.

　　The cooperation involves two major areas of technical cooperation:

　　Technology: The Siemens Digital Enterprise solution is used, covering all aspects such as manufacturing planning, design software and production automation, involving: communication networks and cloud solutions, helping Northvolt optimize its battery mass production and expand its competitive advantage.

　　Supply of lithium-ion batteries: Siemens plans to purchase lithium-ion batteries from Northvolt once its large-scale manufacturing facilities are up and running. The two companies will actively work on expanding new joint R&D projects.
