1. Check before charging: whether the battery is intact, whether the wiring is intact, and open the gas cap. Do not open or remove the filling plug on the battery. Do not add fluid before or while charging. Do not smoke, produce sparks or open flames near the battery. Do not discharge the battery at the same time while charging. Do not leave metal tools on the battery while charging. Do not repair the battery while charging. The electrolyte temperature is lower than 55℃
2. If it is a new battery, cool the electrolyte with a specific gravity of 1.26 to 30°C and then inject it into the battery. The injection amount should be 10 to 20 mm higher than the protective plate. Wait for 6 hours until the liquid temperature drops below 35°C. Start charging. The specific gravity of the electrolyte referred to refers to 30℃. When the temperature is different, it should be converted according to the following formula: D30℃=Dt+0.007(t-30℃)
3. The electrolyte temperature should not exceed 55°C during charging. Otherwise, measures such as reducing the charging current, artificial cooling or suspending charging should be taken.
4. When the battery is charged to saturation, the voltage and electrolyte specific gravity will basically not rise within 2 to 3 hours, and a large number of bubbles will appear. The electrolyte specific gravity reaches 1.26, and the single cell voltage reaches 2.4V.
5. When the single cell voltage drops to 1.7V, the voltmeter voltage is 41V (driving load), and the electrolysis specific gravity drops to 1.18, charging should be carried out in time.
6. When the battery is fully charged, use distilled water or dilute sulfuric acid with a specific gravity of 1.4 to adjust the specific gravity of the electrolyte to 1.26 and maintain a sufficient height. The voltage, electrolyte and specific gravity should be recorded throughout the charging process of the battery. Records will assist in battery maintenance and assurance analysis.
7. Keep batteries away from fire and heat sources. After charging, close the gas cap, wipe off the electrolyte splash, keep the connector clean and dry, and apply Vaseline. Battery flushing must be carried out by lifting it off the vehicle.
8. The battery charging environment must be well ventilated. In particular, ventilation must be forced around the vehicle when charging. The ventilation equipment in the battery charging room must be good, and the temperature should not be higher than 40°C. The air circulation volume can be calculated to avoid the accumulation of hydrogen-oxygen mixed gas during battery charging, causing an explosion. The following formula can be used to calculate: Q=0.05×I×N (where Q : Air flow amount, I: Charging current at the end of charging, N: Number of battery cells), it should be ensured that the air flow amount in the charging room is greater than the air flow amount in the calculation formula. 9.
