What is the difference between 18650 li ion rechargeable battery and lead-acid batteries?
In life, each of us often deals with batteries. From toys and small appliances to today's electric cars, batteries are used everywhere. With the development of science and technology to this day, it can be said that batteries are used everywhere. In recent years, electric bicycles, scooters, balance bikes, electric tricycles, four-wheelers, scooters for the elderly, electric forklifts, etc. have emerged in large numbers. The amount and capacity of batteries have also become larger and larger. The batteries have become battery packs, and their sizes have also increased. It’s getting bigger and bigger, and its value is getting higher and higher. So, how should we choose the appliance with the battery that best suits us?
To choose a battery that suits you, first of all, you need to understand the following issues. First, you must know the matching voltage of your electrical appliance; second, you must know the power consumption of your electrical appliance; if the power consumption is large, choose a large-capacity battery or battery pack.
What is a battery pack? We usually call a single battery a cell, and multiple batteries composed of two or more batteries are called a battery pack. The purpose of the battery pack is to increase the voltage and capacity, that is, to increase the power of the battery. Under normal circumstances, batteries with voltages above five volts are battery packs.
Here we focus on lead-acid batteries and lithium battery packs, also known as power battery packs. These are the batteries used in our household electric two-wheelers, three-wheelers, four-wheelers, etc. This kind of battery pack is commonly used in a wide range of applications. For: lead-acid batteries, water batteries, and 18650 li ion rechargeable battery. In particular, 18650 li ion rechargeable battery are used in forklifts, sightseeing cars, car forks, buses, etc., and are known as new energy batteries.
So, what are the characteristics, differences, advantages and disadvantages of each of these batteries?
1. Lead-acid batteries (including black diamond batteries, graphene batteries)
The advantage is that because it was launched earlier, the public generally understands its power, it is cheap, safe and reliable, and it is the choice of many friends. But the shortcomings are also fatal, such as large size, heavy weight, short battery life, short service life, low efficiency, and long charging time.
2. Lithium battery
There are many types of 18650 li ion rechargeable battery, most of which we commonly use are lithium iron phosphate batteries and ternary 18650 li ion rechargeable battery. 1. Lithium iron phosphate battery: Compared with lead-acid batteries, lithium iron phosphate batteries are small in size, light in weight, sufficient in power, long in life, and safe and reliable. Because of the high density of lithium iron phosphate batteries, the efficiency is also very high. It can charge and discharge with high current and is widely used to power a series of vehicles such as electric bicycles, tricycles, forklifts, sightseeing cars, cars, and buses. However, lithium iron phosphate batteries also have disadvantages. As the temperature drops, the power will gradually decrease. But it far exceeds the power of lead-acid batteries.
2. Ternary lithium battery
Compared with lithium iron phosphate batteries, ternary 18650 li ion rechargeable battery have higher density, smaller size, and lighter weight. They are 1/3 of the weight and volume of lead-acid batteries of the same power. They have all the advantages of lithium iron phosphate batteries, and Sufficient power for use all year round. However, its safety and service life are slightly lower than those of lithium iron phosphate batteries.
The specific differences between lead-acid batteries and 18650 li ion rechargeable battery:
1. The difference in weight and volume. The weight and volume of a lead-acid battery with the same power are three times that of a lithium battery.
2. The difference in service life. The service life of lead-acid batteries is generally 300 cycles, while the cycle life of black gold stone and graphene batteries is 350 times. The cycle life of lithium battery is more than 2500 times.
3. The difference in price is that the price of full-body batteries is cheap, while the price of 18650 li ion rechargeable battery is very high, especially since last year and this year, it has skyrocketed every year. For example, a set of 48-volt 20-amp lead-acid batteries costs around 700, while the same set of 48-volt 20-amp 18650 li ion rechargeable battery should cost more than 1,300 yuan. With the current price of 18650 li ion rechargeable battery, those priced below 1,300 yuan are definitely second-hand. Do not be greedy for cheap goods or falsely marked capacity.
4. Differences in power. The power of 18650 li ion rechargeable battery is more powerful than that of lead-acid batteries. When used on electric bicycles, the speed is generally three miles higher than that of lead-acid batteries.
