Discussion on power 18650 rechargeable battery lithium 3.7v 3500mahrecycling technology

Huang Jianzhong, former deputy inspector of the Department of Energy Conservation and Comprehensive Utilization of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and secretary-general of the China Electronic Energy Saving Technology Association, said: The current power battery recycling industry is entering an important stage of research. It is manifested in the following three key points.

First, both the design and production of power batteries and the recycling, disposal and comprehensive utilization of used power batteries are still at a stage where policies and regulations to support and standardize development are constantly being improved.

Second, how battery manufacturing companies can adopt standardized, versatile and easy-to-disassemble product structure designs to strengthen the full life cycle management of power batteries.

Third, how to establish various systems for extended producer responsibility with vehicle manufacturers as the main body, give full play to the role of market mechanisms, and establish power battery recycling channels.

These three key points pointed out the main crux of my country's recycling and processing of used batteries.

In terms of the power battery recycling policy system, at present, my country's design and production of power batteries, recycling, disposal and comprehensive utilization of used power batteries are still at a stage where policies and regulations that support and standardize development are constantly being improved. At the previous "Two Sessions", Chen Hong, deputy to the National People's Congress and chairman of SAIC Motor, said that my country's power battery recycling policy system is not sound enough at this stage. It is difficult for OEMs to manage the entire life cycle of the power batteries of all sold vehicles, from new vehicle sales to final recycling. Therefore, he suggested that “relevant departments should study and introduce recycling qualifications for new energy vehicles, and gradually eliminate companies with backward technology and non-environmental protection standards.”

In terms of full life cycle management of power batteries and extension of producer responsibility, Wang Hongmei of the Chinese Academy of Environmental Sciences has more experience. She has presided over the policy formulation of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment's "Waste Battery Pollution Prevention and Control Technology". She pointed out that the management of used lead-acid batteries is currently mainly focused on industrial hazardous waste, and the management of hazardous waste for civilian products is still relatively weak. Therefore, she suggested: “In general, we should establish a unified coding standard at the national level, establish a traceability system for the entire life cycle, supervise the entire flow, and ultimately create a closed cycle between production, recycling and regeneration, and truly extend the responsibility for pollution to consumers. , establishing a new model for civilian hazardous waste management.”

The battery recycling market is a blue ocean, and the recycling industry chain needs to be improved to break the ice.

Judging from the service life of the batteries, the first batch of electric vehicles have a running mileage of more than 200,000 kilometers, which meets the requirements for retired batteries. Some power batteries have begun to enter the end-of-life period. The arrival of the end-of-life period also brings huge market opportunities to the battery recycling industry. It is understood that the waste power battery recycling market will explode from 2018. It is expected that the waste power battery recycling market will exceed 5 billion yuan in 2018. From 2020 to 2023, the waste power battery recycling market will further grow to 13.6 billion - 31.1 billion yuan.

In order to strengthen the recycling of used batteries, at the end of February this year, seven ministries and commissions including the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology jointly formulated the "Interim Measures for the Management of Recycling and Utilization of Power Batteries for New Energy Vehicles." Facing the blue ocean of the market, lithium battery-related companies also seized the opportunity and began to lay out power battery recycling.

Guoxuan Hi-Tech, a listed power battery company, has previously stated that it has established a company related to comprehensive battery recycling and is currently building a recycling production line.

In addition, power battery company CATL is also exploring a complete 18650 rechargeable battery lithium 3.7v 3500mahgreen industry chain. Previously, CATL insiders said that after the power batteries are retired from the car, they are placed in its battery energy storage system for echelon utilization. After the echelon utilization, the battery will be disassembled and the battery materials will be recycled.

2018 is the first year for the development of the power battery recycling industry. In this regard, Wang Chao, secretary-general of the China Battery Alliance, believes that the rapid development of the power battery recycling industry is in line with the expectations of all parties in the new energy vehicle industry, but industry trends should be re-examined from two perspectives. First, power batteries have reached retirement age, and the market is gradually expanding. Second, policies such as "power batteries will face retirement when their capacity decreases to 80%" have forced power battery companies to layout and improve recycling systems, driving the industry to advance rapidly.

Although some new energy vehicle companies have laid out the power battery recycling market, due to lack of technology and experience, many companies choose to leave it to third-party professional power battery recycling parties. The blue ocean of battery recycling has already taken shape, and it’s just waiting for the maturity of recycling technology to break the ice.
