A brief introduction to the research and development requirements for lithium battery classification
The traditional mobile terminal market, such as mobile phones and laptops, requires high capacity because they often need to be charged once to be used for a long time. The research and development of rechargeable batteries for portable terminals is aimed at high capacity. To this end, high capacity must be achieved even at the expense of life, and the life requirement is generally about 2 years.
With the arrival of the era of electric vehicles, the direction of lithium-ion battery research and development has changed. Today's electric vehicles mainly include three types: hybrid vehicles, plug-in hybrid vehicles and pure electric vehicles. Hybrid vehicles require large power exchanges during acceleration and deceleration, so high-power batteries are ideal. On the contrary, pure electric vehicles only rely on power lithium battery packs to provide electrical energy, so they require more large-capacity support, while plug-in hybrid vehicles are somewhere in between. It can be concluded that in terms of high-power lithium battery requirements, hybrid vehicles > plug-in hybrid vehicles > pure electric vehicles; while in terms of large-capacity lithium battery requirements, just the opposite is true, pure electric vehicles > plug-in hybrid vehicles >Hybrid vehicle. For photovoltaic power generation and wind power generation, high-power batteries with high tolerance to output power changes must be used, because the output power of these two power generation devices varies greatly due to the great influence of natural factors.
With the transition and transformation of lithium batteries to large-scale applications, lithium batteries themselves are no longer capable of solving fundamental problems. Therefore, lithium-ion capacitors that combine the advantages of lithium-ion batteries and traditional double-layer capacitors have emerged, and there are also efforts to develop new redox flow batteries. New technologies are in the simultaneous research and development stage.
