As a safety protection device for lithium batteries, the protective board must not only work reliably within the normal operating current range of the equipment, but also act quickly when the battery is accidentally short-circuited or overcurrent to protect the battery core. The principle of lithium battery protection board is very simple, and it is also simple to make. The requirements for customers must be very clear, down to the component model, process requirements, voltage requirements, current requirements, output port connection, charging, etc.
Lithium batteries are usually divided into two categories:
Lithium metal battery: Lithium metal battery is a battery that uses manganese dioxide as the positive electrode material, metallic lithium or its alloy metal as the negative electrode material, and uses a non-aqueous electrolyte solution.
Lithium-ion battery: Lithium-ion battery generally uses lithium alloy metal oxide as the positive electrode material, graphite as the negative electrode material, and a non-aqueous electrolyte.
Lithium battery protection board wiring circuit and method
The wiring methods of each lithium battery protection board are different depending on the number of series, and the wiring methods of the same port and separate ports are also different. If you want to be precise about each product, please check the protection board details page, but the overall wiring remains unchanged. Due to the active nature of lithium batteries, a protective plate must be installed when using lithium batteries to prevent overcharge, discharge and overcurrent of the lithium battery. Let me introduce how to wire the lithium battery protection board.
The lithium battery protection board is to protect the charge and discharge of the series-connected lithium battery pack; when fully charged, it can ensure that the voltage difference between each single cell is less than the set value (generally ±20mV), achieving even charging of each single cell in the battery pack. , effectively improves the charging effect in series charging mode; simultaneously detects the overvoltage, undervoltage, overcurrent, short circuit, and overtemperature status of each single cell in the battery pack to protect and extend the service life of the battery; undervoltage protection enables each When a single battery is discharged, it can prevent the battery from being damaged due to over-discharge.
Lithium-ion batteries are both batteries + protection boards. The 3 wires will only appear on the protection board, and the battery will always only have 2 wires. There are two types of lithium-ion batteries. Obviously the 3.7V one is non-aluminum iron phosphate and can be replaced directly.
Replacement is very simple (pay attention to the positive and negative poles)
1: Remove the packaging of the original lithium battery, and then use a soldering iron to separate the protective plate and battery.
2: Similarly, remove the protective plate of your new lithium battery and connect the battery to the old protective plate.
P+, P- are connected to the output. B+ is connected to the positive electrode of the battery, and B- is connected to the negative electrode. If multiple cells are connected in series, the negative electrode of B1 and the positive electrode of B2 are connected together, and so on, the negative electrode of the last battery is connected to Bn-. Solder the wires first and connect the battery last, don't make the wrong connections. If there is no output after completion, remember to use the charger to activate the charging interface led by P+ and P-.
The third wire of some lithium batteries is a temperature protection wire, and some are battery information verification wires (for example, if a non-original battery is replaced, an alarm will be prompted). 4. Branch interface: The positive electrode of the lithium battery pack is the positive electrode for charging and discharging. C: Can be used as the negative electrode for charging. D: It can only be used as the negative electrode of discharge.
