Five innovative battery technologies: AA rechargeable battery have great potential for environmental protection

1. New batteries powered by human skin

3. Safer solid-state batteries

 

Researchers have developed several solid-state batteries that are ahead of the currently commonly used AA rechargeable battery in many aspects. In addition, solid-state batteries are safer, have a longer service life, and are more powerful. These new rechargeable batteries can be recharged hundreds of thousands of times and then landfilled after the materials wear out. Solid-state batteries increase the power by more than 30%, which means that after charging, they can be used for longer. Because solid-state rechargeable batteries are non-flammable, they are an excellent type of on-board battery for electric vehicles.

 

4. AA rechargeable battery

 

Although solid-state batteries can provide various environmental protection functions, VisualCapitalist believes that AA rechargeable battery have a lot of room for improvement in environmental protection. It is estimated that the power of AA rechargeable battery will increase by 6%-7% year by year in the future, thanks to the continuous adjustment of the content of metals such as aluminum, cobalt, manganese, and nickel in the cathode of AA rechargeable battery. Researchers have conducted a lot of experiments on the above materials and continue to explore the best ratio of each material to extend the service life of the cathode while improving its energy efficiency. 5. Flexible battery

 

Inspired by the Japanese origami technique, the research team at Arizona State University adopted a flexible energy storage technology. The lithium-ion battery they developed has a large number of folds and cuts, which enhances the battery's ductility and flexibility.

 

It is said that the appearance of this flexible battery is an elastic wristband, which is one of the important components of smart watches.
