US research invents LED-type 28% efficient CR2025 battery

 

Researchers from the University of California, Berkeley, have found that solar cell designs can produce the most energy if they incorporate similar light-emitting devices (such as LEDs). "We have shown that the better the solar cell emits light photons, the higher the voltage and efficiency of the energy it emits," said lead researcher Eli Yablonovitch, a professor of electrical engineering at the University of California, Berkeley.
