According to this standard, all types of rechargeable batteries are applicable to civilians. In the increasingly large power tool market today, countries around the world are developing power tools with environmentally friendly lithium-ion batteries. Green and environmentally friendly lithium-ion batteries have higher specific energy, specific power, high charging efficiency and no environmental pollution, and their performance is better than the previous nickel-hydrogen batteries used.

 

Nickel Hydride No. 5 safety testing is important, including the following aspects: to pass safety tests such as overcharging, short circuit, puncture, extrusion, heavy object impact, etc., so that the battery will not catch fire or explode. The specific methods are as follows:

 

The first is the overload test: Nickel Hydride No. 5 charging, according to the 3c overcharge test, when the battery charging voltage rises to a certain voltage and stabilizes for a period of time, the battery voltage rises rapidly when approaching, and when it rises to a certain level, the battery is top hatted, and the battery voltage drops to 0v, fire and explosion.

 

Followed by a short circuit test: in a complete battery, a wire with a resistance of no more than 50m will be used to short the battery negatively, and the surface temperature of the battery will be tested. The maximum surface temperature of the battery is 140℃, and the battery will not catch fire or explode; needle test: place the fully charged battery on a plane and pierce the battery radially with a steel needle with a diameter of 3mm. Test the battery without catching fire or exploding; extrusion test: place the fully charged battery on a plane, apply an extrusion pressure of 13+1KN through the cylinder, and squeeze the battery through a steel rod with a diameter of 32mm. Once the extrusion pressure reaches the maximum size, stop extrusion, and the battery will not catch fire or explode.

 

Finally, a heavy object impact test is carried out: after the battery is fully charged, it is placed on a plane. A steel column with a diameter of 15.8mm is placed vertically in the center of the battery. A weight of 9.1kg falls freely from a height of 610mm onto a steel column above the battery.

 

During the manufacturing process of lithium-ion batteries, manufacturers must test the safety performance of lithium-ion batteries. There are some auxiliary tests, although not all tests, but according to a certain proportion of evaluation tests, it is necessary to ensure that the product meets national standards.
