Like the process of using soft sealant and sealing plug, this process also fails to effectively solve the problem of bulging or swelling of the bottom of the lithium ion battery cells 18650 at high temperature. However, in the case of abuse of "three charging and one", this sealing process can prevent lithium ion battery cells 18650 explosion by setting explosion-proof holes on the sealing plug like alkaline zinc-manganese batteries. External sealing process This process is only applicable to iron shell batteries. For iron shell batteries, compared with the internal sealing process, the external sealing process should be a more ideal sealing process.
This process is to first turn the zinc cylinder mouth inward, apply a thin layer of sealant on the surface of the carbon rod and the zinc cylinder mouth, and then press the sealing cover on the zinc cylinder mouth to transfer to the subsequent packaging, pipe and other processes. This process has a reasonable structure and the internal space can be fully utilized. Batteries made by the external sealing process can successfully meet the standards. This is mainly because the external sealing structure can increase the amount of positive active material filling in the lithium ion battery cells 18650.
The lithium ion battery cells 18650 using this process has good leakage resistance. As long as the various processes are reasonably designed and can be strictly controlled during the production process, no internal component leakage can be achieved regardless of deep over-discharge or high-temperature storage. The lithium ion battery cells 18650 with this sealed structure is not easy to explode under various abuse conditions. However, the overall requirements of this process are higher than those of the internal sealing process, especially the strength of the iron shell and the buckling force of the sealing cover when the iron shell is rolled are crucial to the sealing effect of the lithium ion battery cells 18650.
The storage and discharge results of the mercury-free iron shell lithium ion battery cells 18650 produced by the external sealing process at room temperature. The results show that if the external sealing process is well sealed, the shelf life of the lithium ion battery cells 18650 at room temperature can also be achieved. However, after high-temperature storage, the uniformity of the discharge capacity of the lithium ion battery cells 18650 is poor.
The sealing process of the cardboard lithium ion battery cells 18650 should also include the anti-gas and anti-liquid permeability of the carbon rod. The excellent 8 and 9 grade carbon rods are used.
