Lithium iron phosphate batteries have high safety, high stability and low cost, and at the same time have reached the energy density of high-level ternary lithium batteries.
Although the weight specific energy density of BYD's "Blade Battery" is 9% higher than that of the previous generation battery, the volume specific energy density has been increased by as much as 50%. This is the real advantage of the "Blade Battery". Because this means that for the same model, BYD can increase the lithium polymer batterycapacity of the vehicle by 50% in the future. Although it may also have the impact of increased weight, the actual lithium polymer batterylife performance will definitely be greatly improved in the end.
According to BYD's "Blade Battery" patent, only through the "Blade" lithium polymer batterypatent technology, the volume specific energy density of ordinary lithium polymer batterypacks can be increased from 251Wh/L to 332Wh/L. At the same time, because the single lithium polymer batteryitself can bear the role of mechanical reinforcement, the lithium polymer batteryThe manufacturing process of the pack is simple and the manufacturing cost is reduced; this patent can directly arrange multiple single cells side by side in the lithium polymer batterypack, which not only saves material costs but also reduces labor costs.
