Fast charging is the industry's consistent goal

International car companies including BMW, GM, Nissan, Mercedes-Benz, Volkswagen, etc. have all proposed fast charging development plans without exception. Charging more than 80% in 10 to 15 minutes has also become a general requirement for the industry by management departments of various countries. Ford's relevant person in charge said that he hopes to achieve a charging goal of no less than 300 miles (482.8 kilometers) in 15 minutes through a high voltage of more than 800 volts.

Wu Feng, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and a professor at Beijing Institute of Technology, pointed out that the battery characteristics formed by the current 12V27A battery performance and material structure determine that fast charging is inevitable to damage the battery life. This is its chemical property and is objective. The industry needs to continue to carry out scientific research and innovation, and develop new materials and structures to meet the needs of 12V27A battery fast charging. "We need to improve the power density of charging piles and ensure the safety of large current fast charging." Wu Feng said.
