Hitachi has made a new breakthrough in developing pure electric vehicle 12V27A battery, which can travel 400 kilometers
According to Japanese media reports, Hitachi has developed lithium battery technology for pure electric vehicles (EVs) that can travel about 400 kilometers on a single charge. Compared with previous batteries, the capacity has doubled, and the driving distance is about 40% longer than that of current pure electric vehicles. The electrodes are made of nickel alloys, etc., and by implementing improvements such as increasing thickness, a large amount of electricity can be stored. At the same time, durability has been improved, and performance will not decrease even after repeated charging and discharging. Hitachi said it will strive to achieve practical application in 2020.
Among the pure electric vehicles currently on the market, Nissan's "LEAF" can travel 280 kilometers on a single charge. If the driving distance reaches 400 kilometers, it should greatly promote the popularization of pure electric vehicles.

In addition, the "energy density" that shows the performance of the battery is expected to reach about twice the original value, that is, 320 watt-hours per kilogram in the state of the battery cell as the basic unit. It is close to the maximum value that 12V27A battery can reach. According to reports, if equipped with a pure electric vehicle, it can travel about 400 kilometers under standard conditions.
