With the increase in electricity consumption in the whole society, the rapid development of new energy, including the rise of emerging industries such as electric vehicles and energy storage, has brought about an increasing market demand for energy storage devices. Because lithium batteries have high storage energy density; long service life; high power tolerance; very low self-discharge rate; light weight; strong adaptability to high and low temperatures; regardless of production, use and scrapping, they do not contain or produce any toxic and harmful heavy metal elements and substances such as lead, mercury, cadmium, etc., and are green and environmentally friendly, they have become the first choice for energy storage methods at present. As the market's expectations for lithium batteries are getting higher and higher, good manufacturing processes and technologies have become the key to ensuring the performance advantages of lithium batteries. Battery formation and capacity division are essential processes in the production process of lithium batteries, and they play a vital role in the performance of lithium batteries. The quality of formation directly affects the initial efficiency, cycle life, thermal stability and safety performance of lithium batteries. Generally speaking, the battery formation process is divided into constant current charging, constant voltage charging and constant power charging, constant current discharge, constant power discharge and constant resistance discharge stages. The battery formation process has high requirements for the error of the charge and discharge current and voltage measurement of lithium batteries. The ideal accuracy is 5/10,000 to 1/10,000, so as to ensure that the overall accuracy of the formation equipment is 1/1000. Then the appropriate measurement method is also an important indicator of the formation equipment. The commonly used shunt measurement, although the accuracy can meet the requirements, cannot be used in the formation equipment due to the high common mode voltage. The general current sensor can achieve a good accuracy of 0.2%, but it is difficult to meet the requirements of high accuracy level in the entire measurement range. In addition to the temperature requirements in the formation process, low temperature drift is also a necessary condition. As an expert in power measurement solutions, LEM has customized the high-precision IT/IN series current sensors for battery formation based on the original high-precision sensors. It adopts closed-loop fluxgate technology and can be used on the AC and DC sides of the formation equipment. Usually, 3 sensors are used on the AC side of the formation equipment and 2 sensors are used on the DC side. The IN series sensors adopt patented innovative technology and a new fluxgate structure to eliminate the ripple generated by the fluxgate drive frequency and reduce the noise output. The excitation voltage conditioning circuit increases stability. The application of digital circuit DSP is introduced in the new generation of IN sensors, which makes the sensor immune to the influence of temperature, interference and power supply voltage changes, especially the zero point error and temperature drift have been greatly improved. The error is less than 10ppm in the temperature range from -40 to +85oC, and the linear error is 3ppm in the full measurement range. The IN series still maintains the characteristics of the previous high-precision sensors, with LED display lights, providing high and low level auxiliary outputs, which can be interlocked with the control and protection system of the battery formation equipment to monitor in real time whether the sensor is in normal operation, improving the reliability and safety of the whole machine.
