To better improve the performance of power 6F22 battery, BMW and Sila Nano develop new anode materials
According to foreign media reports, BMW plans to cooperate with SilaNanotechnologies (SilaNano) in California to develop a new generation of battery materials. SilaNano has developed a series of battery anode products with silicon as the main material, aiming to replace traditional graphite electrodes to increase the capacity of battery cells. This anode material matches the current battery manufacturing process and can be put on the automotive market after product optimization.
BMW is committed to the development of home batteries to accelerate the introduction of new batteries that meet the requirements of its plug-in hybrid vehicles, with the ultimate goal of keeping the price of new batteries at an affordable price level for users.
SilaNano is committed to the development and commercialization of a new generation of battery materials. The first batch of products is anode materials based on silicon materials, which are intended to replace traditional graphite electrodes. Such materials help to bring the following characteristics to the battery cells of the new generation of batteries: long cycle life, ultra-low expansion rate, and high energy density.
