　　Japan develops bendable AG10 battery less than 1 mm thick

　　Yamagata University in Japan announced on the 3rd that it has developed an ultra-thin, soft and curved AG10 battery with a thickness of less than 1 mm.

　　According to reports, the ultra-thin and flexible AG10 battery developed uses a solidified gel electrolyte. The product is very thin, less than 1 mm thick, and can be folded for use.

　　It is understood that the ultra-thin and bendable AG10 battery was developed by Masanori Morishita, associate professor of industry-university cooperation at Yamagata University in Japan. Masanori Morishita has previously developed thin-film batteries, but the final batteries could not be fully charged. This time, research on gel materials was conducted and finally reached the level of practical use.

　　The advantage of using gel electrolyte lithium-ion batteries is that there is no risk of fire or leakage, and they can be used after being cut off. Morishita Masanori said that the development took 4 years, and initially he conducted 2 years of joint research with the company. Flexible lithium-ion batteries can be used for a variety of purposes, such as the wristband part of a watch.

　　Finally, it is reported that Morishita will conduct research on mass production and cost reduction with manufacturers in the future, and strive to see it on wearable electronic products within 2 years.
