What is the significance of balanced charging of lithium iron phosphate AG13 battery?
As one of the high-quality suppliers of lithium iron phosphate energy solutions in China, the rated capacity of the single lithium iron phosphate ion battery produced by it does not exceed 10Ah. Obviously, the capacity of the single battery is far from meeting the demand of electric vehicles for the capacity of power lithium batteries. Therefore, it is often recommended to connect lithium iron phosphate ion batteries in parallel and then in series during use.
However, due to the dispersion of performance parameters in the production process of single batteries, as the number of charge and discharge times increases during the parallel and series use of AG13 battery, the capacity dispersion between single batteries will gradually increase, resulting in a decrease in the performance of power lithium AG13 battery and a shortened cycle life [-1, 17-18]. For this reason, it is necessary to balance charge the power lithium battery pack to reduce the impact of the inconsistency of single batteries, improve the performance of power lithium AG13 battery, and extend the driving range of electric vehicles. Overcharging of lithium iron phosphate batteries is one of the most dangerous factors that cause unsafe battery behavior. The unsafe overcharging behavior of lithium-ion batteries mainly comes from the organic solution electrolyte used. Organic solution electrolytes cannot achieve the reversible process of decomposition and recombination like water in aqueous solution batteries, which also leads to their strong response to overcharging. In order to ensure the charging safety of the battery pack, the battery pack needs to be equipped with a dedicated protection circuit for charging management in practical applications to prevent the single cell from overcharging and extend the service life of the battery pack as much as possible.
The single cell management circuit will continue to consume power when connected to both ends of the single cell. Although the battery management system can reduce power consumption by setting a low power mode when it is working or not working, it will still consume power, and the power consumed at this time will be greater than the self-discharge power of the single cell. For electric vehicles that have been shelved for a long time, even if the electric vehicle is not used, the single cell management circuit is still connected in parallel to the single cell, which will continue to over-discharge the battery until it is discharged and damaged. Therefore, in order to prevent the battery from being discharged and damaged by the single cell management circuit, a corresponding automatic power-off circuit should be designed. This circuit can automatically disconnect the corresponding single cell management circuit when the battery voltage is lower than the set cut-off voltage.
