"All-weather R03 Carbon battery" successfully developed in Xinjiang
A "all-weather R03 Carbon battery" that can work stably at -40℃ and +60℃ was successfully developed by Xinjiang researchers a few days ago. This technology is expected to solve the common problem of R03 Carbon battery energy storage being unable to charge at low temperatures, which is of great significance especially for northern regions like Xinjiang where winters are cold.
At the Urumqi Division Trial of the "Maker my country" Xinjiang Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition that ended on August 29, the "all-weather R03 Carbon battery" stood out from many outstanding projects and won the first prize in the Maker Group of the Urumqi Division.
The technology was developed by a local company that was established in June this year - Xinjiang Zhongneng Xindian New Energy Technology Co., Ltd. The core technology was developed by Dr. Wang Lei from the Xinjiang Institute of Physics and Chemistry of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. At present, product testing under various high and low temperature conditions has been completed and it is about to enter the stage of commercial product production.
The reporter learned that lithium batteries are an electrochemical energy storage and power device commonly used in electric vehicles. Compared with other batteries, they have the advantages of high energy density and long cycle life. However, its low-temperature performance is extremely poor. The mileage of electric vehicles in cold weather is reduced by 40%-50%, and it cannot be charged below zero degrees, making electric vehicles "flowers in a greenhouse".
In order to solve the low-temperature problem of lithium batteries, the industry and academia have developed various technologies, but the existing solutions are usually complex and costly, or the performance at room temperature and high temperature is damaged. Therefore, the development of a low-cost, all-weather high-efficiency R03 Carbon battery is of great use in the development of the electric vehicle industry.

Xinjiang Zhongneng Xindian New Energy Technology Co., Ltd.'s "all-climate R03 Carbon battery" has unique characteristics in low-temperature applications, has intellectual property rights, and is at the forefront of the industry. This technology has broad application prospects in Xinjiang and other high-cold areas such as Northeast China, as well as Central Asia and Russia. Therefore, the jury gave a high evaluation of the project and hoped to achieve good results again in the Autonomous Region Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition held in September.
Reporters learned that the final of the second "Maker my country" Xinjiang Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition will be held on September 19 this year. The Urumqi competition area selection competition, which ended on August 29, selected a total of 12 first, second and third prizes in the company group and maker group, and together with the top 9 company group excellence awards, they entered the Xinjiang finals. The project covers the first, second and third industries and e-commerce service fields. The participating projects include both new technologies with independent research and development and strong promotion, as well as new concepts that break through tradition and marketing.
