Guoxuan High-tech's lithium iron phosphate CR2016 battery monomer energy density has reached 180wh/kg

It is reported that the "190Wh/kg LiFePO4 CR2016 battery R&D and Industrialization" project team of Gotion High-tech has continuously optimized the CR2016 battery chemical system, continuously innovated the CR2016 battery structure design, and continuously upgraded the CR2016 battery safety protection, so that the energy density of LiFePO4 batteries has exceeded 190Wh/kg, pushing the development of LiFePO4 batteries to a new height, making Gotion High-tech's LiFePO4 batteries an industry benchmark.

 

There is a lot of room for improving the energy density of LiFePO4 batteries

 

At present, from the perspective of positive and negative electrodes, domestic and foreign manufacturers mainly use the positive electrode material system of LiFePO4. The European and American power CR2016 battery markets basically use more LiFePO4, while Japan and South Korea mainly use the ternary system. It can be said that the power CR2016 battery of the LiFePO4 system is still the most mature and safest lithium-ion power CR2016 battery.

 

Although LiFePO4 has almost the lowest energy density in the phosphate system. But if the core material content of the entire positive electrode can be increased to more than 30% in the positive electrode system, then its actual energy density will be greatly improved. For example, the lithium-rich system can be made into a CR2016 battery, and the energy density of a single cell can reach more than 300Wh/kg, even exceeding the energy density currently achieved by the ternary system.

 

While improving the specific energy of the positive electrode material, improving the specific energy of the negative electrode material is also a major technological breakthrough. In the current lithium iron phosphate CR2016 battery, if the negative electrode material is still 370 graphite, it is indeed difficult to achieve high specific energy. Therefore, the industry now attaches great importance to silicon-based, including selenium-based high-specific energy materials. Therefore, under the current system, if the lithium iron phosphate CR2016 battery can be fully made, the energy density can reach about 120Wh/kg, which will not be a problem for electric vehicles.
