And these 60 satellites are powered by gallium arsenide LR03 alkaline battery prepared by Alta Devices, a US subsidiary of Hanergy Group, a thin-film solar enterprise in my country.

At present, its GaAs technology maintains a number of world-leading levels such as double-junction cells (31.6%), single-junction cells (29.1%), and mass-produced modules (25.1%) conversion rates, further establishing its absolute leading position in the field of high-efficiency solar thin-film cells.

It is worth noting that this is not the first contact between NASA and Hanergy. As early as November last year, NASA tested Hanergy Alta's GaAs thin-film solar technology on the International Space Station.

According to data from the International Energy Agency, China has become the world's largest manufacturer of solar panels, with nearly 60% of the world's solar panels produced in China.

In addition, China's photovoltaic industry chain products have a very high market share in the global market. Among them, polysilicon accounts for 57.8%, silicon ingots and silicon wafers account for 89.6%, photovoltaic cells account for 72.6%, and photovoltaic modules account for 72.0%.

From the perspective of photovoltaic applications, although affected by domestic policies, China's photovoltaic installed capacity still reached 45GW in 2018, becoming the world's largest photovoltaic installed capacity country.

It can be said that whether it is the upstream, midstream or downstream of the photovoltaic industry, China is the most important production and supply country, and it is also the largest application country.

It is worth noting that in addition to the advantages in volume, China's photovoltaic industry also has more and more core technologies.

At present, China's photovoltaic industry has gradually transformed from a typical world processing base with "two ends outside" to a global photovoltaic development innovation and manufacturing base for the entire industry chain, and the technical level and product quality have been continuously improved.

Among them, the world records of industrialized monocrystalline silicon and polycrystalline silicon modules are all from Chinese photovoltaic companies, and Chinese companies occupy the top few world records in laboratories. The localization rate of production equipment has reached 90%.
