The function of the lithium battery pack protection board is to protect the battery from discharge, overcharge, and current, as well as output short-circuit protection.

  Lithium battery pack protection board principle

  The finished lithium battery mainly consists of two parts, the lithium battery core and the protective plate.

  The lithium battery protection board is to protect the charge and discharge of the series-connected lithium battery pack; when fully charged, it can ensure that the voltage difference between each single cell is less than the set value (generally ±20mV), achieving even charging of each single cell in the battery pack. , effectively improves the charging effect in series charging mode; simultaneously detects the overvoltage, undervoltage, overcurrent, short circuit, and overtemperature status of each single cell in the battery pack to protect and extend the service life of the battery; undervoltage protection enables each When a single battery is discharged, it can prevent the battery from being damaged due to over-discharge.

  The function of the lithium battery pack protection board is to protect the battery from discharge, overcharge, and current, as well as output short-circuit protection.

  The reason why the lithium battery pack needs protection is determined by its own characteristics. Since the material of the lithium battery itself determines that it cannot be overcharged, overdischarged, overcurrent, short-circuited, or charged and discharged at ultra-high temperatures, lithium battery components always appear with a delicate protective board and a current fuse.

  The protection function of the lithium battery pack is usually completed by a protection circuit board and current devices such as PTC. The protection board is composed of electronic circuits and can accurately monitor the voltage and charge and return circuit of the battery core at all times in an environment of -40°C to +85°C. current, and timely control the on-off of the current loop; PTC prevents severe damage to the battery in high-temperature environments.

  Interface definition: The charging port and the discharging port of the board are independent of each other. They share the positive electrode. B- is the negative electrode connected to the battery, C- is the negative electrode of the charging port; P- is the negative electrode of the discharge port; B-, P-, C -The pads are all through-hole type, and the diameter of the pad holes is 3mm; each charging detection interface of the battery is output in the form of a DC pin holder.

  Can the lithium battery pack be used without a protective plate?

  As for why some people have the idea that lithium battery packs do not need protective plates, the big reason is the emergence of lithium iron phosphate batteries. Because there is news that lithium iron phosphate battery packs are not afraid of overcharging or over-discharging, there has been an argument that lithium batteries can be used without a protective plate. However, so far, no battery manufacturer has publicly declared that it does not use protective plates.

  The lithium battery pack protection board is a charge and discharge protection for series connected lithium battery packs. When fully charged, it can ensure that the voltage difference between each single battery is less than the set value, achieving equal charging of each single battery in the battery pack, effectively improving the charging effect in series charging mode.

  When the lithium battery is completely immune to the effects of overcharging, over-discharging, etc., and when the design of the lithium battery itself can completely replace the role of the protective plate, the lithium battery does not need a protective plate.
