Key technical problems of hydrogen 14250 battery vehicles have been overcome

 

The research groups of Professor Lu Junling, Professor Wei Shiqiang, Professor Yang Jinlong and others from the University of Science and Technology of China have recently developed a new catalyst that has overcome the key problems in the promotion and application of hydrogen 14250 battery vehicles, eliminated the carbon monoxide "poisoning shock" crisis of hydrogen 14250 batterys, extended battery life, and broadened the temperature environment for battery use, so that it can start normally in the cold winter. This research makes hydrogen energy vehicles promising for civilian promotion, and the international academic journal Nature published the results on January 31.

 

Hydrogen is considered to be one of the most promising clean energy sources in the future. However, the development of hydrogen 14250 batterys faces many challenges, one of the key problems being the carbon monoxide "poisoning" problem of the platinum electrode of the 14250 battery. As the "heart" of hydrogen 14250 battery vehicles, the platinum electrode of the 14250 battery is easily "poisoned" by carbon monoxide impurity gas, resulting in a decline in battery performance and a shortened life, which seriously hinders the promotion of hydrogen 14250 battery vehicles.

 

Recently, a research team from USTC has designed a new catalyst of iron hydroxide dispersed on the surface of platinum at the atomic level. The catalyst can 100% selectively and efficiently remove trace carbon monoxide from hydrogen fuel in the temperature range of -75 degrees Celsius to 107 degrees Celsius. The new catalytic material can provide full-time protection for hydrogen 14250 batterys during frequent cold starts and continuous operation, preventing hydrogen 14250 batterys from being "poisoned" by carbon monoxide.
