Today, the third-generation mass-produced batteries have been used in electric buses, which has taken a big step forward in energy density, reducing costs and improving charging performance.

The nickel, cobalt, and manganese contents of 622 ternary batteries are 70%, 10%, and 20%, respectively. However, the company is currently increasing the nickel content of NCMA batteries to 90%, and the LR6 battery is under development. The 712 LR6 battery is also in the research and development stage and will be mass-produced in the next 2-3 years.

　　The company plans to mass-produce NCM811 LR6 battery cells in August 2018, which can be used in electric vehicles. Kia NiroEV will be the first model to use this LR6 battery.

　　Tesla-Panasonic

　　Tesla claims that the energy density of the LR6 battery on the Model 3 electric vehicle ranks among the highest in the industry. The company has reduced the cobalt content and increased the nickel content. It calls it a new generation of NCA LR6 battery chemistry, but its LR6 battery cathode is produced by other manufacturers.
